MEQUON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team placed three on the podium at the CUW Open on Saturday. No team scores were kept.
Results
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) took third in the 174 bracket to lead the Pointers. He had five wins on the day, three by fall.
Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) was the consolation champion in the 165 bracket. After dropping a decision in his opening bout, he won five-straight in the consolation bracket, three by decision and two by major decision.
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) placed fifth in the 197 bracket. He had four victories, three of which were by fall.
Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) finished sixth in the 285 bracket. He won three times, two by major decision and once by decision.
Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) had three wins in the 184 bracket. He had two wins by fall and one by major decision.
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) had two wins, both by tech fall, in the 141 bracket.
Bryce Buchanan (Onalaska, Wis./Onalaska) had one win by fall at 174.
Aiden Fonder (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) got a win by major decision at 133.
The Pointers are back in action on Dec. 6 for the annual Bourbon Brawl. Action against UW-Oshkosh begins at 7:00 p.m. in Berg Gym.
