STEVENS POINT, Wis. – UW-Stevens Point head women's volleyball coach
Lyndsay Kooi has announced the addition of Nicole Lund to the staff as an assistant coach.
"I am looking forward to joining the UW-Stevens Point women's volleyball program! I am very excited to work with the coaches, athletes, and staff who have been so welcoming to me," said Lund. "I feel it will be a great place for me to continue my education and be part of an accomplished volleyball program. Go Pointers!"
Lund comes to UWSP from Illinois State University where she played for four years as a middle blocker for the Redbirds. While at ISU. Lund was a member of the 2021 Missouri Valley Conference All-Tournament Team while helping the Redbirds win their third-straight MVC Tournament title.
In 2020-21, Lund was named to the MVC All-Freshman team and earned MVC Defensive and Freshman of the Week honors. For her career, Lund racked up 414 kills, 263 blocks and 83 digs over 67 matches and 244 sets played.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Nicole to our program," said Kooi. "Her experience competing at the DI level as a middle blocker will be a valuable asset to our team. It's evident Nicole is passionate about community, culture, and developing the overall student-athlete."
Lund also served as a volunteer summer camp coach for the ISU volleyball program for three years. While at ISU, she was also a sports marketing intern. She brings proficiency in Adobe products, social media platforms and Microsoft Office products.
A native of Rochester, Minn., Lund completed her bachelor's degree in general marketing at Illinois State earlier this month.
