STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team fell at home in league dual action to visiting UW-Whitewater by a final of 36-7. The night was highlighted by the Bourbon Raffle which sold out just moments before the match netting $50,000 to the Joe Trawitzki Endowment.
 
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) got the Pointers on the board first with a major decision win at 125 by a 13-2 final.
 
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) got a win at 197 as he used two takedowns to win a 6-2 decision.
 
Riese Thornberry (Germantown, Wis./Germantown) and Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) had close decision losses at 149 and 165, respectively. Thornberry dropped a 7-3 decision while Heuss fell by a 5-1 final. Trystan Altensey (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) dropped a 10-4 decision.
 
The Pointers will travel to Alabama in January for the Hawk Classic. The event begins on January 7 at 9:00 a.m. at host Huntingdon College in Birmingham.
