MEQUON, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's wrestling team competed at the CUW Open on Saturday. No team scores were kept.
 
Results
 
Carson Trotzer (Weston, Wis./D.C. Everest) was the Pointers' top finisher at the CUW Open. Trotzer finished in fifth place at 174 with three victories. Two of his wins came by fall and one by medical forfeit in the fifth-place match.
 
Trystan Altensey (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) placed sixth at 184 with three wins. He won all three matches by major decision.
 
Karson Richardson (Tolono, Ill./Unity) earned four wins in the 285 bracket and was the consolation champion. Three of his wins came by fall with one by decision. Richardson won the consolation first-place match by fall (6:05).
 
Aiden Fonder (Kimberly, Wis./Kimberly) finished with three wins at 125. He won two matches by major decision and one by fall.
 
Cody Weix (Marshfield, Wis./Marshfield) tallied three wins at 174. Two of his wins came by fall while earning a win by sudden victory.
 
Logan Neitzel (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) tallied two wins by fall in the 197 bracket. Easton Hull (Waupun, Wis./Waupun) logged two wins at 165, with each win coming by decision.
 
Sammy Nelson (Blanchardville, Wis./Pecatonica) registered one win by fall (5:09) in the 149 bracket. Ryan Dykes (Carpentersville, Ill./Algonquin Jacobs) logged one win by major decision (12-3) in the 285 bracket. Joey Ahern earned one win by decision in the 157 bracket.
 
The Pointers will travel to UW-Oshkosh after the holiday to take on the Titans in a conference dual on Thursday, Nov. 30. Action begins at 7:00 p.m.
