OSHKOSH, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's basketball team (9-9, 2-5) never led in an 81-45 defeat at UW-Oshkosh (13-5, 6-1) on Wednesday.
Josiah Gillie (Milwaukee, Wis./West Allis) posted a season-best 16 points and nearly had a double-double with a team-best nine boards.
Ryan Genrich (Mukwonago, Wis./Mukwonago) added eight points.
The Titans scored the first six points of the game before Genrich hit a pair of free throws for UWSP. Gillie and
Brennan Timm (West Bend, Wis./West) combined for the next six points as UWSP stayed close.
Gillie scored six more points, but the deficit was 48-24 at the half.
Timm Scored the Pointers' lone bucket in the first eight-plus minutes of the second half as UWO extended the lead to 33. Genrich nailed a pair of three and Gillie scored the final six UWSP points.
UWSP host UW-Platteville on Saturday (Jan. 21) to begin the second half of conference play. Tip off at Bennett Court at Quandt Fieldhouse is set for 7:00 p.m.
