RHINELANDER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point softball team (4-0) dispatched of St. Norbert (0-2) by run-rule fashion in both games of a doubleheader sweep on Saturday. The Pointers won 12-2 and 10-0 to hand head coach 
Ryan Konitzer his 100th coaching victory.
 
Freshman 
Jesse Klicker (Spring Grove, Ill/Richmond-Burton Community) had five hits on the day, all extra-base hits. Four were doubles with the fifth being a triple.  She scored fout runs and drove in two.
 
Becca Geiyer (Grayslake, Ill./Warren Township) had four hits on the day with four runs scored and five RBI. She tied a career high in game one with four runs batted in.
 
Meg Lawrence (Antioch, Ill./Antioch Community) drove in six on the day with her first home run of the season among her four hits. 
Abby Van Beek (Mayville, Wis./Mayville) also hit her first home run of the season. She drove in three and scored three times on the day.
 
In the circle, 
Makenna Tkach (Streator, Ill./Marquette Academy) tossed an one-hitter over 4.0 in game two. She had 10 strikeouts over the two games. Van Beek also picked up a win in game one and 
Tenley Gassner (Lomira, Wis./Lomira) tossed a perfect frame in her collegiate debut.
 
Game 1 – UWSP 12, SNC 2 (6)
After SNC took a 1-0 lead with a solo home run in the top of the first, 
Maddie Candre (St. Charles, Ill./East) drew a walk to lead off the bottom of the frame. 
Sara Traxel (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) singled off the pitcher and a Klicker pop up behind second moved Candre to third. Traxel stole second and both runner came home on a fielder's choice and throwing error. Lawrence singled and 
Rachel Baker (Richmond, Ill./Richmond-Burton Community) lined a sac fly to center giving UWSP a 3-1 edge.
 
The Green Knights got a single run in the third and Van Beek came on in relief to strand the bases loaded.
 
Tkach singled to begin the fourth. Pinch runner 
Jayden Prondzinski (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) reached third on consecutive wild pitches and scored on a Van Beek single. With two away, Traxel was plunked sparking a two-out rally. Klicker doubled to plate a run. Geiyer singled pushing two more runs home. Lawrence continued the rally with an RBI single and an 8-2 lead.
 
In the fifth, made it 9-2 with an RBi double.  Klicker led off the sixth with a triple. Geiyer singled and Lawrence followed with a two-run home run ending the game.
 
Van Beek earned the win in relief. She and Tkach had five strikeouts each.
 
Game 2 – UWSP 10, SNC 0 (5)
Candre began game two with a walk and moved to second on a passed ball. She moved to third on a Traxel single. Klicker jumped on the first pitch with an RBI double, her first of three two-baggers in game two. Two batters later, Lawrence hit an RBI groundout for a 2-0 lead.
 
The SNC leadoff hitter blooped a spinning single in front of short stop for the first, and only, hit of game two for the Green Knights.  
 
Traxel started the third by reaching on a fielding error. Klicker hit another double, missing a home run by mere inches off of the top of the fence. Geiyer drove in a run with a groundout. Then with two away, Van Beek laced a home run to left for a 5-0 cushion.
 
Klicker doubled again with one down in the fifth. Geiyer singled and stole second putting two in scoring position. Lawrence drove both home with a single through the left side. After Van Beek drew a walk, 
Emmie Cibrario (Kenosha, Wis./Tremper) hit a sac fly to make it 8-0. 
Clarissa Messina (Rosemont, Ill./East Leyden) ripped an RBI single up the middle, her first career hit to push the lead to 9-0. 
Lillie Lindgren (Elburn, Ill./Kaneland) followed with a ground-rule double and it was 10-0.
 
Gassner spelled Tkach in the circle recording her first career strikeout in a perfect frame. Tkach struck out five in 4.0 one-hit innings.
 
The Pointers will be in action next on March 3 in Peoria, Ill. Beginning with a 6:00 p.m. game against Augustana.
