ADRIAN, Mich. – UW-Stevens Point men's wrestlers
Luca Paladino (Oak Creek, Wis./Oak Creek) and
Brandon Peckham (Plainfield, Wis./Tri-County) both went 4-0 at the Pointers competed at the Adrian Duals on Saturday. UWSP beat St. Clair County Community College by a 33-16 team score, but dropped duals to Adrian (28-12), Ohio Northern (29-15) and West Liberty University (27-15).
Results
Paladino went 4-0 at 125 on the day. He won against Adrian in a 12-6 decision. Against ONU and STCCCC, he won decision by scores of 9-5 and 8-4. In his finale, he picked up a 6-4 sudden victory against WLU.
Peckham also was 4-0 on the day at 165 for the Pointers. He started the day with 7-3 and 4-3 decision wins against Adrian and ONU. He then won a major decision, 13-3, before capping the day with a fall at 1:40 versus WLU.
Trystan Altensey (Port Byron, Ill./Riverdale) won three times on the day at 184. Two of his wins came by fall at 4:06 against Adrian and at 0:55 versus WLU. He also won by major decision, 9-1, against STCCCC.
Blaze Thurber (Nekoosa, Wis./Nekoosa) won a 12-11 decision against ONU and won by forfeit versus STCCCC at 133.
Josh Heuss (Antigo, Wis./Antigo) (174) and
Ben Gunderson (Shiocton, Wis./Shiocton) (285) each won by fall against STCCCC.
Blake Flach (Shell Lake, Wis./Shell Lake) pinned his foe at 1:40 against ONU at 197.
Cooper Peterson (Cannon Falls, Minn./Cannon Falls) won a major decision, 10-2, against STCCCC.
The Pointers travel to Mequon next Saturday (Nov. 19) for the Concordia Open. Action begins at 9:00 a.m.
