STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's golf team finished third place with 718 shots on the weekend. The Pointers finished only two shots behind the second-place finishing team.

UWSP: 3rd of 6
Top UWSP Individual: Bree Downie (Hortonville, Wis./Hortonville) led the Pointers in third place with 169 shots, only seven shots out of first place.
Notables: Jenny Marshall (Stoughton, Wis./Stoughton) had the best round of the day for the Pointers shooting an 86. Marshall cut nine shots off her round from yesterday to finish 10th. Kate Downie (Hortonville, WIs./Hortonville) followed in 14th place with 185 shots.
Tournament Highlights
Top Team: UW-La Crosse won the invitational with 685 shots. Four out of their five golfers also finished in the top 10.
Top Individual: Markie Ash of UW-Platteville won the invitational with 162 shots, beating the second-place finisher by only one shot.
Up next: The Pointers will compete at the WIAC Championships next weekend (Oct. 7, 8, and 9). Tee off times are TBD.
