STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (4-3-0, 4-3-0) scored two power-play and two shorthanded goals in a 6-3 win over UW-Stout (4-4-0, 4-4-0) on Friday.
Zach Zech (South Lyon, Mich./) gave the Pointers a 1-0 lead just over six minutes into the game.
Carter Roo (Champlin, Minn./) picked up an assist on the play.
After the Blue Devils tied the game at 1-1,
Tristan Conrad (Lockport, Ill./) gave UWSP a 2-1 lead at the 4:30 mark of the second with Zech assisting on the play. At the midway point of the second,
Colin Raver (Bartlett, Ill./) buried a power-play tally.
Cody Moline (North Branch, Minn.) and
Harrison Stewart (Rockford, Ill./) each notched their first career assists on the goal.
Later in the second, Zech scored his second of the game, a shorthanded goal from
Nicholas Aromatario (Woodbridge, Ont./) and Raver. Thirty seconds later,
Jordan Fader (Rice Lake, Wis./) netted his second shorthanded goal of the year off a feed from Roo.
David Hill (Glen Mills, Pa.) found the back of the net for the first time in his career in the third period with Stewart adding his second helper of the game.
Ryan Wagner (Indianapolis, Ind./) made 24 saves in net for the Pointers. UW-Stout goaltender Brennan Kitchen had 26 saves.
The Pointers head to Ashland on Wednesday (March 3) to play Northland. Puck drop is slated for 7:00 p.m.
