MEQUON, Wis. – The No. 13 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (6-3-0) scored twice on the power play in a 2-1 win at Concordia (Wis.) (1-6-1) in the first game of the weekend home-and-home series.
Senior
Carter Roo (Champlin, Minn.) opened the scoring at 4:24 of the first period as UWSP took advantage of their first power-play opportunity.
Cody Moline (North Branch, Minn.) picked up an assist on the goal.
The Pointers began the second period on the power play and needed less than a minute to cash in.
Nick Gonrowski (New Hope, Minn.) put home the man-advantage tally just 54 seconds into the second period.
Jordan Roo (Champlin, Minn.) and
Brady Smith (Bloomington, Ill.) were credited with assists.
The Falcons got on the board in the final minute of the second period with a power-play goal of their own. Neither team scored in the third.
UWSP goaltender
Eli Billing (Windsor, Ont.) made 25 saves for the win. CUW goaltender Bo Didur had 48 saves.
The Pointers and Falcons close out the home-and-home at K.B. Willett Arena on Saturday (Nov. 27) at 7:00 p.m.
