MENOMONIE, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Pont volleyball team (16-3, 3-0) kept its unbeaten start to league play intact with a straight-sets victory at UW-Stout (9-7, 1-2) on Friday.

Sydney Mosinski (Nevada, Iowa/Nevada) led all players with 11 kills, her fourth double-digit match of the year.  She also topped all players with four blocks on the night.

Ashley Kopp (Muskego, Wis./Muskego) added a double-double for the Pointers with 10 kills and 13 digs.  It was her 11th double-double on the year.

Grace Michalske (Wausau, Wis./West) had a game-high 20 assists and Emma Peterson (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) led UWSP with 17 digs.

Mosinski accounted for UWSP first three points with kills to spark an 8-4 start to set one.  Guresi Mena (Inver Grove Heights, Minn./Simley) recorded her third kill of the set to ignite an 8-2 run to bring UWSP to a set one win, 25-21.

Mosinksi and Reis Derousseau (Tomah, Wis./Tomah) combined on back-to-back blocks to start a 10-1 run giving UWSP a 20-11 lead in set two.  Emma Peterson (Bloomington, Minn./Thomas Jefferson) served up two aces in the run as the Pointers eased to a 25-16 win.

UWSP found itself in an 18-8 hole in set three before Kopp powered back-to-back kills to wake up the Pointers' offense.  Megan Lau (Potter, Wis./Hilbert) posted four kills with Jadyn Clarner (Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial) and Sophia Lee (Lake Mills, WIs./Lake Mills) registering the match-clinching block in a 17-4 run to close set three.
