Greenheck Notches Double-Double in UWSP Win at UWRF

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – Junior Taylor Greenheck (Sauk Prairie, Wis./Sauk Prairie) recorded her first career double-double as the UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team (9-10, 4-4) finished a season sweep of UW-River Falls (4-14, 0-8) with a 62-45 win.

Greenheck tied teammate Kellan Schmidt (Edgerton, Wis./Edgerton) with a game-high 14 points.  She also pulled down a career-best 12 rebounds for the double-double.  Freshman Jamie Pfeifer (Wisconsin Dells, Wis./Wisconsin Dells) added 11 points for UWSP.

Pfeifer got UWSP on the board nearly halfway through the first quarter as UWSP dug out of a 6-0 hole.  Schmidt and Greenheck scored all 10 points as UWSP went on a 10-2 run and led 12-10 after one.

The trio of Greenheck, Pfeifer and Schmidt scored all 11 points in the second quarter as the Pointers extended the lead to 23-17 at the half.

Carly Cerrato (De Pere, Wis./De Pere) nailed a three early in the third quarter to spark a 10-2 run as UWSP expanded the lead to double digits.  Pfeifer scored UWSP's final four points of the period as the Falcons made a push late to get within 41-34 heading to the fourth.

Cerrato opened the fourth with another triple and Greenheck scored six of the next 11 UWSP points as the Pointers held a sizable advantage the remainder of the game.

The Pointers return home on Wednesday (Feb. 5) at 7:00 p.m. against UW-Whitewater.  The first 100 fans through the door will have a chance to shoot a half-court shot at halftime to win $500 and free t-shirts will be given away.
