AUBURNDALE, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point baseball team (6-4) were unable to stop a seventh inning rally and fell to St. Olaf (6-2) in the Florida finale, 7-5.
Eight out of nine Pointers posted hits during the matchup with the Oles. Both senior

Nolan Matson (Neillsville, Wis./Neillsville) recorded two hits in the game. Mrozinski drove in one run and added a stolen base. Matson added a run himself.
Sophomore

After three scoreless innings, the Pointers made some noise in the top of the fourth. The Pointers strung together six singles to take a five-run lead. Simmons led the Pointers with a single to put a dog on the bases. After two outs, freshman
Bradley Comer (Rhinelander, Wis./Rhinelander) added a single to left center and brought Simmons home, scoring the first run of the game.
Following a walk from Matson,
Ryan Stanicek (Loves Park, Ill./Boylan Catholic) laid down an excellent bunt on the third base line and beat the throw out to first. A throwing error on the play allowed Stanicek to move to second and scored Comer. Sophomore
Bradley Hansen (Racine, Wis./Union Grove) hit a hard driven single to score both Matson and Stanicek. To cap off the inning, Mrozinski brought Hansen home with a single up the middle.
In the seventh, the Oles rallied to score seven runs off of four hits and three walks from both Pointers pitchers.
The Pointers were not able to plate any more runs in the eighth or the ninth inning and were defeated 7-5 by St. Olaf.
