April Gehl (Hilbert, Wis./Hilbert) added yet another honor to her portfolio on Thursday as she was named AVCA Midwest Region Player of the Year. She also earned her second-straight All-Midwest Region selection. Junior
Ellie Adams (Racine, Wis./William Horlick) was named to the honorable mention team.

Gehl, the WIAC Offensive Player of the Year, leads the nation in kills this season with 608 entering today's NCAA Tournament. She is also the country's leader in total attacks (1,641) this season. Gehl became the first player in UWSP history with 600 kills in a season this year and is the program's career leader with 1,833. She ranks third in WIAC history in career kills. Gehl is a three-time all-region, three-time all-conference and a 2018 All-America selection.
Adams is third in the nation with 1,329 assists this season. She has recorded 22 doubles this season and has racked up double-digit assists in 68-consecutive matches. She picked up her second all-conference award last week.
