GREENWOOD, Ind. – The accolades keep coming for decorated senior
April Gehl (Hilbert, Wis./Hilbert) and the UW-Stevens Point volleyball standout was named to the 2019 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District VI team on Thursday (Nov. 14).

Gehl was named AVCA Midwest Region Player of the Year earlier on Thursday and is the 2019 WIAC Offensive Player of the Year. She holds the UWSP single-season and career record for kills. Gehl is the national leader in kills (608) and total attacks (1,641). She led the Pointers to the WIAC Tournament title last week with a five-set victory at UW-Whitewater.
A three-time member of the WIAC Scholastic Honor Roll, Gehl is a communication major with a cumulative 3.60 grade point average.
To be nominated, a student-athlete must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 50 percent of the team's games at the position listed on the nomination form
Gehl was one of eight selections to the All-District VI team. Honorees selected First Team Academic All-District® advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in early December.
