OSHKOSH, Wis. – Senior pitcher Cole Erickson (Deerfield, Wis./Deerfield) improved to 4-0 on the season as the UW-Stevens Point baseball team (15-4, 7-0) ran its win streak to 10-straight with a 5-3 victory at UW-Oshkosh (14-4, 1-2) on Thursday.
 
Freshman Christian Zamudio (Kenosha, Wis. /Tremper) had a two-run double and a sac fly for three RBI in the win.  Fellow freshman Payton Nelson (Wausau, Wis. /West) also had an RBI double.
 
Ben Faga (La Crosse, Wis./Central) hit a double and scored twice.  Kyle Mrozinski (Ashwaubenon, Wis./Ashwaubenon) drove in a run and Ryan Stanicek (Loves Park, Ill./Boylan Catholic) drew two walks and scored a run.
 
Lucas Luedtke (River Falls, Wis./River Falls ) led off the second inning with an infield single.  He stole second and Faga drew a walk.  Zamudio followed with a double to plate both runners and give UWSP a 2-0 lead.
 
The Titans got a run back in the bottom of the second with a two-out solo home run.
 
Faga began the fifth with a double to center and moved to third on a UWO error.  He came home on a sac fly by Zamudio as the lead went back to two at 3-1.
 
Again, the Titans answered with a run in the bottom of the frame. A leadoff double scored on consecutive deep fly outs.
 
Will Iloncaie doubled with one out in the eighth.  Mrozinski followed with a run-scoring single to left for a 4-2 edge.
 
UWO got back within a run in the bottom of the eighth with a pair of one-out hits and a groundout.
 
In the ninth, Stanicek drew his second base on balls of the game.  Nelson doubled to score Stanicek from first to put UWSP up 5-3.
 
Alex Stodola (Coleman, Wis./Coleman) struck out two in the ninth to earn his fifth save of the season.  Erickson went 7.1 innings and struck out five Titans in the win.
 
The Pointers return to Oshkosh on Tuesday (April 17) for a doubleheader against UWO beginning at noon.
