WINTER HAVEN, Fla. – The UW-Stevens Point baseball team (8-4) won its third-straight game with a 10-5 victory over Colby on Friday to close out the annual Florida trip.
 
Will Iloncaie went 3-for-3, including a triple, and he drove in two.  Freshman 
Lucas Luedtke (River Falls, Wis./River Falls ) blasted his first career home run, one of two hits.  He scored twice and drove in a pair.
 
Kyle Mrozinski (Ashwaubenon, Wis./Ashwaubenon) collected two hits and drove in a run. Four other Pointers added an RBI each in the win.
 
The Mules jumped ahead in the top of the first with two runs off two hits, a walk and a UWSP error.
 
Christian Zamudio (Kenosha, Wis. /Tremper) led off the third with a single up the middle and moved to second on a sac bunt by Iloncaie.  Mrozinski drove him in with a single to cut the deficit in half.
 
In the fourth, Luedtke walloped a one-out solo home run, the first of his career, to tie the game.  The Pointers tacked on three more runs in the frame with the benefit of two Colby errors.
 
Colby got a run back in the fifth, but UWSP added to it lead in the sixth.  Two unearned runs crossed the plate for the Pointers with Iloncaie collecting an RBI on an infield hit.
 
Tommy Duddleston (Chicago, Ill./De La Salle Institute) began the seventh with a double.  He scored on 
Ryan Stanicek (Loves Park, Ill./Boylan Catholic)'s double.  Luedkte hit a run-scoring single and moved to third on consecutive wild pitched.  He scored on a 
Neal Matson (Neillsville, Wis./Neillsville) groundout for a 10-3 lead.
 
The Mules got a pair of runs in the eight on four hits, but the Pointers closed out the win to conclude the Florida trip.
 
The Pointers return to Wisconsin and open WIAC play at UW-Oshkosh on Tuesday (April 3) with a doubleheader slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
