MEQUON, Wis. – The No. 1 UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (11-0-2) edged out Concordia-Wisconsin (2-9-1) for a 2-1 victory on Friday.
Junior
Brennen Miller (Keller, Texas) got the Pointers on the board first at the 13:29 mark of the first period off assists from
B.J. Duffin (Red Deer, Alta.) and
Stephan Beauvais (Shelby Township, Mich.).
The Falcons tied things up at the 8:18 mark in the second with a power-play goal from Connor Hogg.
The Pointers'
Drew McLean (Waterford, Mich.) scored the game-winner with a 1:12 remaining in the second to give UWSP a 2-1 advantage.
UWSP outshot CUW, 54-20. Junior
Luke McElhenie (Sauk City, Wis.) led the team with seven shots.
Sophomore
Connor Ryckman (Minesing, Ont.) made 19 saves in the game, improving to 11-0-1. Falcons' goaltender Bo Didur took the loss, dropping to 2-4-0, making 52 saves.
The Pointers continue the road trip, heading to Lake Forest on Saturday (Dec. 8). Puck drop is scheduled for 7:00 p.m.
