DE PERE, Wis. –  The top-ranked UW-Stevens Point men's hockey team (6-0-2) faced off against the No. 3/4 St. Norbert (4-2-1) and skated to a 1-1 tie.
 
The Pointers and the Green Knights battled through two scoreless periods. Goalies from both sides made great saves to keep the score 0-0.  
 
St. Norbert struck first, taking the lead 1:06 into the third period on a goal by Roman Uchyn.
 
The Pointers' Ryan Bittner (Crookston, Minn.) tied the game at the 12:13 mark of the third period, putting in the loose puck in front of the net. Ryan MacKellar (Indianapolis, Ind.) and TJ Roo (Champlin, Minn.) were credited with assists.
 
Overtime was not enough time to decide it between the No. 1 Pointers and the No. 3/4 Green Knights as the game ended in a 1-1 tie.
 
Connor Ryckman (Minesing, Ont.) improves to 6-0-1, making 25 saves. Green Knights' goalie T.J. Black made 19 saves.
 
The Pointers host the second annual Holiday Tournament sponsored by Ascension next weekend. Games begin on Friday (Nov. 23) at 3:30 p.m. with St. Thomas and Utica facing off. UWSP plays Nichols at 7:30 p.m.  All games will be played at K.B. Willett Arena.
