Lexi Englund (White Bear Lake, MN/White Bear Lake) scored twice to lead the UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team to a 3-0 shutout win against UW-Eau Claire on Friday evening at Ice Hawks Arena.

Sydney Conley (South St. Paul, MN/South St. Paul) stopped UW-Eau Claire's (14-7-1, 3-3-0 WIAC) 23 shots she encountered to collect her third shutout of the season and her sixth career blank slate.
The top-ranked power play unit in the country continued its dominance as the Pointers took advantage of a Blugold tripping penalty at 13:33 and scored :44 seconds into the power play to take an early 1-0 lead.
Mackenzie Kratch (Waconia, MN/Waconia) tallied her fourth goal of the season.
The Pointers managed just five shots in the second period, but Englund, assisted by
Ali Biagini (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater), snuck one past Blugolds' goal tender Erin Conolly at the 12:59 minute mark for a two-goal advantage.
Englund continued the hot hand, scoring the third unanswered goal for the Pointers at 3:33 of the third period to go ahead 3-0. For the remaining 16:27, UWSP continued to stifle the Blugold front to earn the shutout victory.
Game three of the three-game series between the two teams will be held at Hobbs Ice Center on Saturday, Feb. 4. The Pointers and Blugolds will face off at 7 p.m.
