MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team (5-4-1) finished the calendar year on a high note with a come-from-behind 3-1 victory at Augsburg (6-3-1) on Saturday afternoon.
Junior
Cara Lemirande (Janesville, WI/Madison Capitols) capped a stellar weekend with a goal and an assist on Saturday. It was her second-straight multi-point game and she totaled five points over the two-game weekend in Minnesota.
The host-Auggies opened the scoring with a first-period tally at the 5:31 mark. Augsburg held the lead into the first intermission.
Senior
Ellie Punnett (Hailey, ID/Athol Murray College of Notre Dame) scored her fourth goal of the season to pull the Pointers even early in the second period. Lemirande assisted on the goal, her first point of the day.
Late in the second period, Lemirande netted an unassisted tally to put UWSP ahead, the eventual game-winner.
In the middle of the third period,
Ali Biagini (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater) locked up the win with her second goal of the weekend. Punnett added an assist, her second point of the night.

Sydney Conley (South St. Paul, MN/South St. Paul) made a career-high 42 saves in the win.
The Pointers return to action on Jan. 5 with game at College of Saint Benedict, the first of two games in Minnesota to begin 2018.
