STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point women's soccer team (9-7-2, 2-3-2) conceded a second-half goal in a 1-0 loss to UW-Whitewater (12-3-3, 4-2-1) in the regular season finale on Saturday.
The Warhawks scored the lone tally of the match in the 72nd minute. It was one of just three shots on goal allowed by the Pointers.
Freshman
Francesca Hamilton (Milwaukee, Wis./St. Thomas More) led UWSP with two of the four shots by the Pointers. Fellow freshman
Gracie Wendels (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis./Assumption) notched the lone UWSP shot on goal in the match.
Senior goalkeeper
Sarah Peplinski (Stevens Point, Wis./SPASH) made a pair of saves for the Pointers.
UWSP enters the WIAC Tournament as the fifth seed and will travel to UW-Stout for a first round match. Kick off is slated for 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday (Oct. 31) in Menomonie.
