LAKE PLACID NY-UW-Stevens Point senior captain Evan Dixon (Novi, MI) was named the recipient of the Elite 90 award at the 2016 NCAA Division III Men's Ice Hockey Championship, it was announced Thursday evening at the championship banquet.

Dixon becomes the second UWSP player to received the award, after Brandon Jaeger (Champlin, MN/Champlin Park) earned the award in both 2014 and 2015.

The senior is a double major at UWSP earning 117 credits towards degrees in business administration-finance, insurance and real estate and business administration-marketing. He boasts a 3.97 cumulative GPA .

UW-Stevens Point will square off with SUNY Geneseo in the first semifinal game at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, NY. The action kicks off at 4 pm EST.
