Pointers capture 17th consecutive WIAC Title

BROWN DEER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team secured its 17th consecutive Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) title on Saturday, out-pacing the field by 174 points.

The Pointers collected five event titles on the final day of action, one in meet record time.

Nate Somers (Oshkosh, WI) won the men's 1,650 free in a WIAC meet record time of 15:49.36

Ethan Bott (Whitefish Bay, WI) won the 200 backstroke in 1:50.78

Jack Englehardt (Madison, WI) won the 100 freestyle in a time of 46.18

Joe Hollman (Geneva, IL) won the 200 breaststroke in 2:05.52

The 400 freestyle relay team of Andrew King (Palatine, IL), Kyle McNair (Lake Zurich, IL), Jack Englehardt (Madison, WI) and Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, WI) capped off the evening with a win in a time of 3:04.38.

The Pointers will now await word of invites to the 2016 NCAA Division III Championships in Greensboro, N.C. March 16-19, 2016.
