HOLLAND, Mich. – The No. 23 UW-Stevens Point women's basketball team held No. 7 Hope College to its fewest points of the season, but a slow third quarter by the Pointers proved the difference in a 56-50 loss in the Hope Post Exam Jam finale on Saturday afternoon.
Senior
Autumn Hennes (Kaukauna, WI/Kaukauna) had a team-high 15 points for UWSP (7-2). Junior
Taylor Barrett (Monroe, WI/Monroe) added 10 points, all from the free throw stripe where she was a perfect 10-for-10. Barrett and Hennes both grabbed nine rebounds, just missing a double-double.

Lexi Roland (New London, WI/New London) hit from behind the arc in the opening minute of play, but the Flying Dutch (10-0) went on a 10-1 run over the next nearly five minutes.
Taylor Douglas (Brodhead, WI/Brodhead) hit a jumper before a 7-0 run by the host put the Pointers behind 17-6.
Lexi Roland (New London, WI/New London), Hennes and
Lauren Anklam (Ringle, WI/D.C. Everest) made baskets early in the second period to pull UWSP within three.
Carly Cerrato (De Pere, WI/De Pere) hit a pair of free throws and drained a three late as the Pointers were down just 28-25 at the half.
Hennes scored four of UWSP's eight points in the third quarter, but a pair of three-minute droughts by the Pointers helped Hope build a 13-point lead heading to the fourth.
Down by 16, the Pointers started a 6-0 run and held Hope without a point for nearly four minutes. With 2:38 remaining in the game, Hennes hit a three and four-straight free throws by Barrett cut the deficit to five. The Flying Dutch held on for the win by making three of six free throws in the final minute of play.
Barrett and Hennes each earned a spot on the Hope Post Exam Jam All-Tournament Team.
The Pointers travel to Phoenix, Ariz., on Dec. 29 and30 to play Williams and Kenyon, respectively, in the Arizona Shootout. UWSP opens conference play at UW-Oshkosh on Jan. 4 before returning to Berg Gym on Jan. 7 against UW-La Crosse.
