STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point swimming and diving teams suffered a sweep at the hands of visiting Northern Michigan on Saturday afternoon. The men accrued 131 points and fell by a margin of 38 points. The women collected 71 points to NMU's 225.

Junior
Sam Jekel (Fitchburg, Wis./Madison West) picked up a pair of individual event wins. He won the 100-yard free and the 100-yard butterfly by more than a second each. Jekel also combined with teammates
Andrew King (Palatine, Ill.),
Jack Englehardt (Madison, Wis./West) and
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, Wis./Neenah) to win the 200-yard freestyle medley relay.
Englehardt and Donnellan finished 1-2 in the 50-yard freestyle for UWSP.
Sean Cloghessy (Munster, Ind.) and
Jackson Wells (Overland Park, Kan.) earned the top-2 spots in the 1-meter diving event.
Sophomore
Grant Moser (St. Michael, Minn.) helped in collecting points with a second place finish in both the 100-yard butterfly and the 200-yard freestyle.
Last year's WIAC Swimmer of the Year
Nate Somers (Oshkosh, Wis./West) also took a second place finish in the 1,000-yard freestyle and 500-yard freestyle, collecting four points total in each events.
Bree Parent (Mt. Horeb, Wis.) finished second in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:10.42, earning a total of four points for the Pointers.
Erica Perkins (Rochester, Minn./Rochester Century High School) took a third-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and improved her time from qualifying to finals by .15 milliseconds.
Junior
Jackie Braun (Sauk Rapids, Minn.) took second in the 3-meter diving event. Braun placed third in the 1-meter diving event.
The Pointers travel to the Whitewater, Wis., on Saturday, November 19 for a dual against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. The meet is set to start at 1:00 p.m.
