STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team defeated UW-La Crosse 152-91 in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual meet on Saturday afternoon.
ResultsNate Somers (Oshkosh, WI),
Michael Mills (Fox Point, WI) and
Austin Teunissen (Bismarck, ND) finished 1-2-3 in the men's 1,000 free, posting times of 10:02.70, 10:12.68 and 10:44.93, respectively to collect 16 points for UWSP.
Garrett Richetto (Wausau, WI) won the men's 200 free, finishing with a time of 1:45.89.
Jack Englehardt (Madison, WI) and
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, WI) finished 1-2 in the 50 free, posting times of 21.49 and 21.53, respectively.
Kyle McNair (Lake Zurich, IL) and Richetto finished 1-2 in the 100 free, with McNair leading the way in a time of 48.46.
The Pointers took home the top four spots in the 500 free, with Somers finishing in a time of 4:55.88.
Caleb Miller (La Crosse, WI), Mills and Teunissen finishied second through fourth, respectively.
Owen Gluck (West Bend, WI) and
Sean Cloghessy (Munster, IN) finished 1-2 in the men's one meter dive, with Gluck posting a score of 278.25.
Justin Fernandez (Chicago, IL) led a trio of Pointers in the 200 breast, finishing in a time of 2:13.99
The men's 400 free relay team of McNair, Richetto, Englehardt and Somers finished with an event-best time of 3:11.89.
UW-Stevens Point competes at the Minnesota Invitational in Minneapolis, Minn. on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6.
