MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – In its final tune-up before the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Championship, the UW-Stevens Point swim and dive teams competed at the 2015 Minnesota Challenge, hosted by the University of Minnesota at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

Top-5 Individual PerformancesAmanda Walker (Sun Prairie, WI) posted the season's best finish in the 200 backstroke, posting a time of 2:12.07.
Rachel Thorson (Ripon, WI) also posted the third-best time of the season in the event, 2:17.21. Walker also posted the second-best time of the season in the 100 butterfly, finishing with a time of 59.29, and the third-best time in the 200 IM with a time of 2:15.96.
Gemma Pillsbury (Baraboo, WI) posted the season's third-fastest time in the 50 free, finishing in 25.26.
Chris Higgins (Cedarburg, WI) posted the second-best time of the season for UWSP in the 200 free, finishing in a time of 1:45.95. Higgins also posted the third-fastest time in the 50 free, 21.84.
Barbara Rose (Schaumburg, IL) posted a time of 19:39.50 in the 1650 free, the second-best performance of the season for UWSP.
Ethan Bott (Whitefish Bay, WI) posted a season-best time of 1:47.07 in the 200 backstroke.
Hailey Kunavich (Pewaukee, WI) posted the second-best time of the season in the 200 butterfly, finishing in 2:20.51. She also posted the second-best time of the season in the 400 IM, 4:56.43.
Evan Catani (St. Louis, MO) posted the second-best time of the season for UWSP in the 400 IM, finishing in 4:17.29.
The Pointers head to the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deer, Wis., for the 2015 WIAC Championships Feb. 19-21.
The UW-Stevens Point men have captured the conference title 18 times in league history and are the 15-time defending conference champion.
The UWSP women have secured six conference titles, all coming since 2000, last winning back-to-back titles in 2010 and 2011.
