Lester got the scoring started just 17 seconds into the game as part of her two-goal first period for UW-Stevens Point (17-7-2). The Pointers were playing UW-Superior (15-11) for the third time in two weeks after the two teams closed out the regular season with a split on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 13-14.

Lester wasted no time in scoring the game's opening goal, as she put home a rebound 17 seconds in. Kat Nejedlo (Fond du Lac, WI/Fond du Lac) and Megan Menotti (Vernon Hills, IL/Chicago Mission) were credited with assists on the goal.

Lester notched her second goal at 15:35 of the first period after again being set up by Menotti. The junior's second tally of the night was her 15th of the season, which ranks her fourth in the WIAC.

Menotti's two assists give her nine for the season and her 17 points are the second-most by WIAC defensemen. The senior recorded her second multi-point game of the season, while Lester registered her third multi-goal game of the campaign.

UW-Superior got one goal back early in the third period on a goal by Mikayla Goodin at 3:34. However, the Yellowjackets were unable to get a second goal past Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East), who made 21 saves in the win.

Megan Leikkari also made 21 saves in the game but was saddled with the loss.

Neither team was able to capitalize on the power play, as the Pointers were 0-for-3 and the Yellowjackets were 0-for-3.

The two teams meet for the sixth time this season to complete the semifinal series on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Ice Hawks Arena for a 7 p.m. game. The winner of the series will advance to face the winner of the series between UW-River Falls and UW-Eau Claire. The Falcons won the first game 6-1.
