BROWN DEER, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team secured its 16th straight Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) title as the three-day WIAC Men's Swimming & Diving Championship came to a close on Saturday at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center.
Complete Results The title is the 19th in program history, in addition to the team's 16th in a row. UW-Stevens Point finished with 920 points, more than 200 points ahead of second-place UW-La Crosse (697), which finished narrowly ahead of UW-Whitewater (693).
After winning seven event championships on the first two days, the Pointers earned four more on the final day of the competition.
Sam Jekel (Madison, WI) won his third individual event of the weekend, claiming the 100-yard freestyle in 45.98 seconds. Jekel also won the 100-yard butterfly and 50-yard freestyles at the championships.
Evan Catani (St. Louis, MO) went back-to-back in the 1,650-yard freestyle, winning the event in 16:14.09. Catani also captured the 400-yard individual medley on Friday.
Joe Hollman (Geneva, IL) added the 200-yard breaststroke to his 200-yard individual medley title, finishing in 2:07.25.

Hans Peters (Naperville, IL) was also victorious with a time of 3:02.30.
The NCAA Championship meet is held on March 18-21 in Shenandoah, Texas.
