Nate Somers (Oshkosh, WI) won both the 500 and 1,000-yard freestyle events and
Sam Jekel (Madison, WI) won three events as the UW-Stevens Point men's swimming & diving team defeated UW-Whitewater 176-67 in a home Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) dual on Saturday.
ResultsSomers won the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:51.84 and was first to touch in the 1,000 free in 10:16.36. Jekel won the 100-yard butterfly (52.35) and was part of the winning 200-yard medley (1:36.31) and 400-yard freestyle (3:12.41) relays.
Sean Cloghessy (Munster, IN) won both the one-meter (262.55) and three-meter (243.50) dives.
Garrett Richetto (Wausau, WI) picked up a win in the 200-yard freestyle, finishing in 1:46.67.
Jack Englehardt (Madison, WI) swam to a first-place finish in the 50-yard freestyle (21.93).
Joe Hollman (Geneva, IL) won the 200-yard individual medley in a time of 2:00.30.
Reilly Donnellan (Neenah, WI) came in first in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:02.78).
UW-Stevens Point competes at the Wheaton (Ill.) Invite on Dec. 4-5.
