DE PERE, Wis. – The seventh-ranked UW-Stevens Point women's hockey team gave up more than three goals for the first time all season in a 5-2 loss at St. Norbert at Resch Olympic Pavilion on Saturday evening.

Photo Gallery After falling behind 2-0 after the first period, UW-Stevens Point (9-4-1) twice got within a goal but could not get any closer. Five different skaters scored for St. Norbert (7-5-1) and the Green Knights outshot the Pointers 40-24 in the game.
Trailing 2-0 after twenty minutes of play, UWSP got within one at the 3:42 mark of the second period on a goal by
Ali Biagini (Stillwater, MN/Stillwater). The freshman's eighth goal of the season was assisted by
Kat Nejedlo (Fond du Lac, WI/Fond du Lac) and
Megan Menotti (Vernon Hills, IL/Chicago Mission) and the eight goals are tied for the most on the team.
The score remained 2-1 until early in the third period when St. Norbert re-established a two-goal lead on Reaghan Chadwick's goal at 2:29. Just under two minutes later,
Meredith Ingbretson (Hayward, WI/Hayward) set up
Lexi Englund (White Bear Lake, MN/White Bear Lake) for the freshman's fourth goal of the season to trim the deficit to 3-2.
St. Norbert got a goal from Emily Chandler and an empty-net goal by Lauren Roethlisberger late on to complete the scoring.
Janna Beilke-Skoug (Madison, WI/East) made 35 saves in the loss, her third-straight 35-plus save performance for the Pointers. Brianna Kelly made 22 stops for St. Norbert.
UW-Stevens Point hosts No. 8 St. Thomas next weekend, Jan. 9-10 at Ice Hawks Arena. The Pointers and Tommies play at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. UST defeated UWSP 5-0 in the NCAA Quarterfinals last season.
