MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's swimming and diving teams closed out the regular season portion of their schedules on Friday and Saturday at the Minnesota Challenge against competition from NCAA DI, DII and DIII. No team scores were kept.

Highlights for the Pointers included:
Women's 200 free relay of
Alexa Pronga (Wisconsin Rapids, WI/),
Amy Boritzke (Brookfield, WI/),
Amanda Walker (Sun Prairie, WI/) and
Emily Nienhaus (Franklin, WI/) posted a first place finish with a time of 1:40.01.
Hailey Kunavich (Pewaukee, WI/) posted a fifth place finish in the women's 200 IM with a time of 2:17.94.
Neinhaus posted a third place finish in the 50 freestyle with a time of 24.99.
The women's 400 medley relay team of
Jodi Vanderford (Kenosha, WI/),
Cassie Matthys (Escanaba, MI/),
Noelle Betterley (Northfield, MN/) and Walker posted a time of 4:11.55, good for third.
Vanderford posted a fifth place finish in the 200 backstroke and Pronga was fifth in the 200 free (55.06),
On the men's side,
Sam Jekel (Madison, WI/) posted an 11th place finish in the 50 free with a time of 21.49.
The Pointers return to the pool for the 2014 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championships at the Walter Schroeder Aquatic Center in Brown Deere, Wis. Action begins on Thursday, Feb. 20.
