ST. PETER, Minn. – The UW-Stevens Point men's swimming and diving team topped Gustavus Adolphus 219-75 on Saturday afternoon, led by
Sam Jekel (Madison, WI) and Hans Peters, who each won multiple individual events.
Results Jekel won the 50-yard freestyle (22.08) and the 100-yard butterfly (52.91). The sophomore also was a part of the first-place 200-yard medley relay (1:37.53) and the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:26.99).
Hans Peters also picked up three individual event wins by taking the 100 (48.67) and 200-yard freestyles (1:47.23), as well as the 200 butterfly (2:00.84). Peters was also on the 200-yard freestyle relay with Jekel,
Andrew King (Palatine, IL) and Zach Ogurek.
In addition to the relay win, Ogurek picked up an individual event win in the 100-yard breaststroke (1:00.16).
Ethan Bott (Whitefish Bay, WI) won the 100 and 200-yard backstrokes with times of 54.32 and 2:00.90, respectively, for the second meet in a row to start the season.
Matt Parks (West Bend, WI) won the 500-yard freestyle (4:52.70) and was second in the 1,000-yard freestyle (10:12.25).
Joe Hollman (Geneva, IL) also had a pair of top-two finishes, winning the 200-yard individual medley (2:01.72) and finishing second in the 200-yard breaststroke (2:16.42).
Sean Cloghessy (Munster, IN) won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events with scores of 233.75 and 211.85.
UW-Stevens Point hosts the Border Battle meet on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 14-15.
