After UW-Stevens Point (7-3, 4-3 WIAC) got a stop on fourth-and-two at its own 42-yard line, Wright capped a six-play, 58-yard drive with his second touchdown of the day. Wright finished with 23 rushes for 112 yards and scored once on the ground and once through the air.

UW-Stout (2-8, 1-6 WIAC) recovered from a 17-0 deficit after the first 20 minutes to tie the score with 6:55 left on a 54-yard run by Tanner Kuehn, his second rushing touchdown of the game. Kuehn ran 22 times for 122 yards in the game.

UW-Stevens Point built the 17-0 lead thanks to two first-quarter touchdown passes by Cody Nuernberg (Kewaskum, WI/Kewaskum) and a 33-yard field goal by Jesse Vervelde (Oostburg, WI/Oostburg). Nuernberg connected with Alex Wallace (Brodhead, WI/Brodhead) from eight yards out and Jake Menzel (Oostburg, WI/Oostburg) for a seven-yard score in a three-minute span late in the first quarter.

Nuernberg was 22-for-35 for 237 yards and three touchdowns and two interceptions in the game. Matt Sosinsky (Princeton, WI/Princeton) caught seven balls for 70 yards, while Jared Pankow (Mosinee, WI/D.C. Everest) had five catches for 64 yards.

UW-Stout cut the deficit to 17-14 early in the third quarter after a 15-yard return on a blocked punt and a four-yard run by Kuehn. The Pointers then re-established a 10-point lead when Wright caught a 17-yard touchdown from Nuernberg.

Zach Vallafskey (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville) had two interceptions, along with a team-high 12 tackles, while Deion Jones (Racine, WI/Horlick), Bo Seibel (Kewaskum, WI/Kewaskum) and Mike Longmeyer (Manitowoc, WI/Lincoln) each had one pick.
