STEVENS POINT, Wis. –
Alex Wallace (Brodhead, WI/Brodhead) scored two total touchdowns, one rushing and one receiving, to help the No. 16 UW-Stevens Point football team defeat visiting UW-Eau Claire 30-3 in a Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) game on Saturday afternoon at Community Stadium at Goerke Park.

Kyle Larson (Clayton, WI/Clayton) late in the fourth quarter for UW-Stevens Point (5-0, 2-0 WIAC). The Pointers improved to 5-0 for the first time since 2007 by limiting UW-Eau Claire (0-5, 0-2 WIAC) to 3.4 yards per play in the game.
Wallace's 29-yard scoring run gave the Pointers a 9-0 lead with 12:33 remaining in the second quarter. On the ensuing kickoff,
Jay Kuenster (Sauk Prairie, WI/Sauk Prairie) recovered a UWEC fumble 20 yards for a touchdown, giving UW-Stevens Point two touchdowns in the span of nine seconds.
UW-Eau Claire got on the board in the final ten seconds of the opening half on a 28-yard field goal by Parker LeMire but the UWSP defense kept the Blugolds off the scoreboard in the second half. The Pointers forced three turnovers and had five sacks in the victory.
Zach Vallafskey (Hortonville, WI/Hortonville) had a team-high 10 total tackles,
Bo Seibel (Kewaskum, WI/Kewaskum) had nine and a forced fumble and
Aaron Karlen (Edgar, WI/Edgar) recorded two sacks.
Tim Burmeister (Milwaukee, WI/Lutheran) added a late interception, while Jake Luedke had one sack and a fumble recovery.
In addition to Wallace's two touchdowns, De'Juan Wright capped a 13-play, 69-yard drive with a one-yard touchdown plunge early in the fourth quarter to make it 23-3. After a fourth-down stop by the defense, Larson hit Wallace for the 45-yard strike to complete the scoring.
Larson completed 14-of-26 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown and one interception.
Jared Pankow (Mosinee, WI/D.C. Everest) led the receiving corps with five catches for 74 yards.
UW-Stevens Point outgained UW-Eau Claire 324-247 in the game. The Pointers were just 3-of-12 on third down but held the Blugolds to five conversions on 17 attempts.
Bo Casper rushed 15 times for a game-high 59 yards for UW-Eau Claire. Joel Newman was 17-for-27 passing for 126 yards and one interception. Korey Jacobson hauled in a game-high seven receptions for 24 yards for UWEC.
UW-Stevens Point hits the road for a matchup of ranked teams against No. 17 UW-Platteville (4-1, 2-0 WIAC) on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 2 p.m.
