STEVENS POINT, Wis. – The UW-Stevens Point men's and women's swimming and diving teams came away with victories against UW-Whitewater Saturday at the UWSP Aquatics Center.

The men won the dual with a score of 135.5-107.5 while the women won 165-78.
On the men's side,
Joey Clapp (Faribault, MN/) won three events: the 50-yard freestyle (20.59), 100-yard backstroke (51.73), and was part of winning 200-yard medley relay (1:34.69).
Luuk Dekkers (Ames,IA/) placed first in the men's 1000-yard freestyle (10:14.35) and the 500-yard freestyle (4:56.56).
Alex Loftus (Janesville, WI/) and
Eric Emerson (River Falls, WI/) also placed well for the Pointers. Loftus placed first in the 100-yard breaststroke (58.74) and Emerson placed first in the 100-yard freestyle (47.97).
For the women,
Emily Nienhaus (Franklin, WI/) placed first in the 100-yard backstroke (1:02.79), while
Andrea Wagner (Apple Valley, MN/) also placed first in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 53:91.
Hailey Kunavich (Pewaukee, WI/) took first place in the100-yard butterfly with a time of 1:02.66, and
Ashley Majewski (Elm Grove, WI/Catholic Memorial) took first in the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 25:01.
Gemma Pillsbury (Baraboo, WI) finished first in the 200-yard freestyle (2:02.45).
The Pointer men and women return to action Jan. 18 for the Point Invite.
