Kust went 5-0 at the Bud Whitehill National Duals to help UW-Stevens Point to an eighth-place finish at the tournament. On the opening day, Kust won two matches by technical fall and one by fall as the Pointers went 2-1 in their group. The following day, he won a close 3-1 decision before recording another technical fall to close out the tournament.
