Destache’s long-range shooting helped the UW-Stevens Point women’s basketball team go 1-1 against a pair of tough teams this week. Destache shot 6-for-9 on three-pointers and 8-for-15 overall as the Pointers lost 48-43 to No. 5 St. Thomas and defeated Illinois Wesleyan 73-71. The junior averaged 11.0 points, 3.0 assists and 1.5 steals per game for the week. After scoring eight points against the fifth-ranked Tommies, Destache made all four of her threes on her way to scoring 14 points in the win over the Titans, who received votes in the rankings.
