Jekel, a freshman, posted an even victory in the 100 butterfly (52.72) and a win over UW-Eau Claire in the 50 free (21.79) on Saturday's season-opening Tri Dual with Eau Claire and St. Cloud State. Jekel was also a member of the top-finishing 400 free relay (3:12.00).
