On Sunday Michelle Jones pitched just the sixth perfect game in school history as the Pointers knocked off UW-Superior 8-0. The senior pitcher retired all 15 batters she faced, striking out five, and forced seven fly-ball outs and three ground ball outs. In the shutout win, Jones only needed 46 pitches, averaging 9.2 per inning, to earn the victory. In Saturday afternoon’s game against the Yellowjackets, Jones picked up the shutout win on the mound allowing just three hits and striking out three as the Pointers won that game 8-0 as well. In the weekend’s two games against Superior, Jones only needed a total of 103 pitches, averaging just 10.3 pitches per inning.
