Welch fired a day three 81 to hold on to the lead and finish as the first ever individual medalist from UW-Stevens Point at the 2011 Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (WIAC) Women's Golf Championships.

Welch held the lead from beginning to end at the three-day tournament and finished just one stroke better than Catherine Wagner from UW-Eau Claire with a 238.
