Elyse Nelson, senior (Batavia, Ill., / Batavia), provided two instances of clutch hitting in a pivotal Pointer conference win over UW-Superior.  With the Pointers down 4-3 in the bottom of the eighth inning Nelson homered over the left field fence to tie the game and force a ninth inning.  In the bottom of the ninth with one out and the bases loaded, Nelson singled up the middle to drive in the winning run.  For the week Nelson batted .357 with eight total bases and three RBI’s.
