Propelled UWSP to a first round victory over UW-La Crosse in the WIAC Tournament (presented by Culver's). Paulsen tossed an 11-strikeout complete-game shutout over the  No. 16 ranked Eagles while tying his career high with 11 strikeouts, his third start of the season with double-digit strikeouts. It was his first career nine-inning shutout in a UWSP uniform. He scattered six hits and allowed just one runner past second base in the game.
