Peckham placed third in the 165 bracket the Pete Willson Invitational over the weekend. His only loss was by ultimate tie breaker to returning All-American Darian Estevez (U of Chicago). On the way to his third-place finish, he defeated #8 ranked Ryan Vedner (UWW) for the second time, and #14 ranked Ryan Whitten (Otterbein).

Other Nominees
AJ Makinen, Men's Basketball
Makinen led the Pointers in scoring with 16 points in a home win over UW-Stout on Wednesday. The league’s assists and assist-to-turnover ratio leader took it upon himself to score in the home victory. It was his seventh game this season in double figures. Makinen added four steals, three rebounds and two assists in the win.

Evan Plummer, Men's Diving
Plummer won the 3-meter dive with a score of 311.75 and finished second in the 1-meter dive with a score of 268.95 in Saturday’s home dual against UW-La Crosse.

Jordan Fader, Men's Hockey
Fader had a point in each of UWSP’s games last week as the Pointers maintained the league lead in the standings. He scored a goal on Wednesday at UW-Eau Claire. On Friday, his 100th career game, he assisted on the eventual game-winning goal. He had another assist on Saturday to extend his point streak to four games. His assist was the team-best 13th of the year.

Gus Grimstad, Men's Swimming
Grimstad won all four events he competed in during Saturday’s dual win over UW-La Crosse. He won the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 53.04, finishing almost three seconds before the second-place finisher. Grimstad also won the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 51.94 and the 200-yard IM with a time of 1:58.08. He also swam a leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:34.86.

Diego Mosquera Herrero, Men's Tennis
Mosquera Herrero posted a solid first weekend of the spring season. On Friday, he paired with teammate Steven Benoy for an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles against Macalester. The duo also battled No. 17 Gustavus Adolphus to an 8-6 defeat on Saturday. In singles play, Mosquera Herrero came up just short in a tiebreaker at No. 2 singles against Macalester (6-4, 2-6, 9-11).
