Kopp hit .329 for the week racking up 101 kills in 17 sets over the Pointers’ 5-0 week. She set new career-highs of 28 and then 30 kills in the week’s finale. She extended her double-doubles streak to six-straight to begin the season with double-digit kills and digs against Lakeland and St. Norbert on Wednesday and again versus Millikin on Friday. She recorded a then-career-best 28 kills in the four-set win over Lakeland. Kopp added a season-high tying 12 digs to go with 17 kills versus St. Norbert. Then on Saturday, she had a monster day in the home opener. In game one, she led all players with 13 kills versus Saint Mary’s. In the finale, she rocked the gym with 30 kills, the sixth-most in league history in a four-set match as UWSP downed Concordia Moorhead. For the week, she averaged 5.94 kills per set, totaled 44 digs, eight service aces and four assists. Kopp also picked up UWO M.V.P. Invitational All-Tournament team honors.
Other Nominees
Maya Kunze, Women's Tennis
Kunze went 3-0 on the week, including a super-breaker win against UWEC to give UWSP its first multiple-point showing against the Blugolds since 2009. She began the week with a tiebreaker win over Lawrence at No. 5 singles, 6-3, 7-6 (7-5). On Friday, she took her No. 5 singles match at St. Norbert by a 6-2, 6-2 final. In Saturday’s conference opener, she rallied for a super-breaker win at No. 5 singles at UWEC, 3-6, 6-1, 10-7. Kunze is now 6-0 in singles play this season.
Emma Peterson, Women's Volleyball
Peterson led the Pointers in digs in all five matches as UWSP went 5-0 on the week. She led all players in digs in four of the five matches, including a season-high 26 in the week’s finale win over Concordia Moorhead. She started the week with 24 digs and six assists in a four-set win over St. Norbert.  She added 20 digs versus Lakeland, 16 more on Friday against Millikin. In Saturday’s home opener, she recorded 17 digs and five assists in a straight-sets win over Saint Mary’s. Peterson posted five more assists to go with her season-high 26 digs in a four-set victory over CCM.
