Van Beek posted a miniscule 0.63 ERA in five outings last week while going 3-1. On Monday, she went 5.1 innings with no runs allowed to earn the win over No. 10 Tufts. She returned on Tuesday with 5.0 frames of two-hit shutout ball in relief to win over Kalamazoo before tossing a complete game win over Chicago, striking out six in each outing on the day. Van Beek had 18 strikeouts over 22.1 innings with just two earned runs against.

Maddie Candre, Softball
Candre hit safely in all six games and batted .647 over the span last week. On Monday, she had a hit in both games, including a double and a run scored in a win over No. 10 Tufts. Then on Tuesday, Candre had three hits in each game as UWSP swept Kalamazoo and Chicago with three runs scored on the day. She capped the week with three hits in Friday’s split, including another double and two runs versus SUNY Old Westbury. Candre’s on-base percentage over the six games was .700.
