Jeffers earned the win in both the 100- and 200-yard backstroke events at UW-Whitewater on Saturday.  His times were 53.93 and 1:58.02, with both margins of victory of five seconds or more.  He also swam the second leg of the 200-yard medley relay with a winning time of 1:36.84.

Other Nominees
Brady Wagner, Men's Basketball
Wagner started UWSP’s home opener win over Edgewood on Saturday by going 4-for-4 from behind the arc.  He added a fifth later in the game, his career-best from three-point range. His 15 points were one shy of his career high.

Jordan Roo, Men's Hockey
Roo recorded his first career assist and went on to add a total of three helpers in UWSP’s win over UW-River Falls.  He assisted on the first, third and fifth goals in the 5-0 win.

Evan Plummer, Men's Diving
Plummer posted wins in both the one- and three-meter dives against UW-Whitewater over the weekend.  His winning scores were 255.35 and 253.60.

Ben Kasten, Wrestling
Kasten won four matches and took fourth in the 174 bracket at Saturday’s CUW Open.  He won by fall twice in the championship bracket with a decision win sandwiched in.  Then in the consolation bracket, he advanced to the third-place match with a 9-0 major decision.  During the week, he won a 3-1 decision in UWSP’s dual at UW-Oshkosh.
