Lee won the heptathlon at the Leonard “Squig” Converse Invite with a score of 4937, almost 700 points better than second place. His performance currently lead the WIAC and is second nationally to last year’s national champion.
Other Nominees:
Calden Wojt: Wojt ran his first 200-meter dash of the 2019 season at the Leonard “Squig” Converse Invite winning with a time of 22.14. The time is 0.06 seconds faster than he opened up with last year. His mark is currently the second-best in the WIAC and sixth nationally.
Sylviann Momont: Consistency was the key for Momont in her first pentathlon of the season. While not recording any personal bests in a sub-event, she still managed to score 30 points more than she ever has to win the event with a score of 3426 at the Warhawk Classic. Her mark is currently the best in the WIAC and fifth nationally.
Alex Grubbs: Grubbs notched her seventh goal of the season on Saturday against UW-Eau Claire. Her goal was registered at the 16:40 mark of the second, with the assist to Shannon Motzko.
Anna Pilecky: Pilecky won both the 1,000- and 500-yard freestyle events at UW-La Crosse on Saturday. Her winning time of 10:40.30 in the 1,000 was over a minute faster than the first UWL finisher. In the 500, she clocked in at 5:17.78, 16 seconds ahead of teammate Haley Dees.
Ben Vosters: Vosters placed fourth at the Pete Willson Invitational last weekend in Wheaton, Ill. He won by tech fall twice and won two decisions in the 133 bracket.
Ethan Bublitz: Bublitz led the Pointers in scoring in a pair of wins last week. He poured in 22 points and had five rebounds in a win at UW-Stout on Wednesday. On Saturday, he scored a game-high 16 as the Pointers completed the season sweep of UWEC. For the week, he averaged 19.0 points per game, eight rebounds, six assists, two blocks, two steals and went 9-for-10 from the free-throw line.
