Pilecky won the 500-yard freestyle by more than nine seconds with a winning time of 5:14.18. She swam every leg of the race faster than any other competitor.
Other Nominees:
Alana Achterkirch: Achterkirch netted her second collegiate goal against UW-River Falls on Saturday. She netted the goal at the 15:13 mark of the third period, and it was assisted by freshman Morgan Oettinger.
Carly Cerrato: Cerrato led the Pointers in scoring in both games last week. She poured in a game-high 13 points and led UWSP with three assists at UW-La Crosse on Wednesday. On Saturday, she contributed 12 points on 4-of-9 shooting from behind the arc at UW-Platteville. Her four rebounds led the team against the Pioneers. Seven of her nine made field goals on the week were three-pointers.
Alec Jeffers: Jeffers won the 100-yard backstroke by nearly a full second, touching in a time of 54.59, as he helped the UWSP men win the Point Invite last weekend. He dominated the 200-yard backstroke, clocking a time on 1:57.62, nearly three seconds faster than the runner-up.
Cal Straub: Straub paced the men’s divers with the best finish in both the one- and the three-meter events. He scored 281.90 in the three-meter to place seventh. In the one-meter, he scored 263.45, good also for seventh.
Jess Posch: Posch scored 332.70 points in the three-meter dive to place sixth. In the one-meter event, she scored 340.70 to come in ninth. She was the highest placing UWSP diver in both events.
Brooke Wellhausen: Wellhausen won the 800-meter run with a time of 2:20.09. She also ran the final leg of the 4x400-meter relay that won with a time of 4:12.04.
Tom Kohn: Kohn won the triple jump with a leap of 14.30 meters (46’ 11.00”), a distance of 0.84 meters better than the rest of the field.
